Steve Turner Contemporary (STC) is pleased to present Sancta, a group exhibition
organized by Ichiro Irie. The title of the show is the plural for “sanctumâ€,
and it reflects the heterogeneous approaches the selected artists take in
relation to landscape. The exhibition attempts to expand the notion of what a
landscape is, and explore new possibilities as to how it can be manifested in
the art object.
Sancta marks the final exhibition at Steve Turner Contemporary’s Beverly Hills
location. Following this exhibition, Steve Turner Contemporary will relocate to
6026 Wilshire Blvd, opposite the Broad Contemporary Art Museum now under
construction at LACMA. The first show there is entitled Past Over, and will
feature works by Michael Arcega, Zoë Charlton, Sam Durant, Ken Gonzales-Day
and others. While the artists work in different media, they do share a similar
starting point in that each is inspired by darker aspects of history that are
typically ignored, sanitized or denied.
Gallery hours are 11am to 5pm Tuesday through Friday, and 1pm to 5pm Saturday.
Please contact the gallery for further information.
